The Role
We currently have an opportunity for an Asset Protection Officer to work within the Emergency Response and Security team to provide a key service to site maintaining the availability of SCBA, negative pressure RPE, harnesses, lifelines, fall arrest and security equipment.
You will act as an integral part of an emergency response team, working effectively in the prevention of emergency incidents occurring, to intervene swiftly and effectively, to minimise the impact of any Fire, Security & Medical incidents should they occur and to operate in a safe working environment.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Accountable for inspection records of equipment
- Liaison with equipment suppliers
- Deliver a range of multimedia training packages as required by HSSEQ guidance
- Support all TA activities offering extra equipment resource
- E-Permit issuing
- Provide sickness and annual leave cover for the Emergency Response Team
- Work with all members of the emergency response team to maintain an effective response to Fire, Security and support of Medical related incidents
- Assist in department initiatives.
- Undertake routine inspections of fire safety equipment as part of a direct or indirect fire safety legislative requirement.
- Maintain all emergency equipment in a state of readiness, including cleanliness and testing as required to approved standards and procedures to undertake checks on emergency resources provided for fire service use.
- Carry out high visibility security patrols, speed checks, personnel searches, compile theft and damage reports as directed.
HSE Management
Responsible for the reviewing of:
- Pre incident plans
- Analytical risk assessments during an emergency incident
- Promote and adopt safe working practices to ensure that self, colleagues and customers are not put at risk, and that health, safety and the environment are always given the highest priority
- Responsible for personal and team compliance with Company Health and Safety Policies, ensuring safe working practices to minimise risk to self, work colleagues, customers and staff is minimised
About You
The ideal candidate should have knowledge of breathing equipment and safety guidelines, including the use of Porta Count software and face fit testing. They should be familiar with confined space regulations and fall arrest systems and have experience in emergency response. Practical experience in emergency response and security is essential, along with strong organisational, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills. The candidate should be detail-oriented and able to work well with colleagues. A valid LGV license is desirable, along with up-to-date medical certifications (FAW, BTACC, ATACC, or FREC3). A commitment to professional development and strong IT skills are also required.
