**The Role

 

Following the success of our recent acquisitions and the launch of our company leased dealer operated (CLDO) business model for our retail business, we have ambitious plans to accelerate the growth of our Essar retail brand and rapidly scale up our forecourt network across the country.

 

With a fresh approach to forecourt retailing and seamless integration with our Stanlow refinery which is set to become the UK’s first low carbon process refinery, we’re redefining forecourt experiences and transforming filling stations into hubs of community convenience with the brands and services customers want and need.

 

We are thrilled to announce an outstanding opportunity within our Retail team for a CR Category Manager. This pivotal role involves playing a key part in crafting and implementing the strategic plan for our country's convenience stores.

 

As a CR Category Manager, the focus will be formulating the category management plan, devising pricing and margin strategies, developing promotional initiatives, overseeing planogram design and execution, and conducting thorough market assessments.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

Category Management-

  • Develop and execute the Category Management Strategic Plan (floor plan, price positioning, category roles and planograms).
  • Develop plan and analyse sales, costs, and margins of products.
  • Analyse prices by channels and competitors in collaboration with the pricing coordinator.
  • Execute the planogram optimisation plan.
  • Analyse market research information.

CR Information Systems-

  • Management of spaceman and similar software.
  • Analysis of category KPI’s.

 

CR Promotional Plan-

  • Develop an annual competitive promotional plan based on category management analysis.
  • Negotiate and implement promotions with vendors.
  • Develop POP material according to execution guidelines.
  • Evaluate promotional plan performance.

 

CR Profitability-

  • Analyse performance reports (sales + margins) for categories and subcategories.
  • Develop and execute specific plans to ensure continuous CR performance improvement.
  • Negotiate vendor rebates in collaboration with CR Manager.
  • Optimise vendor supply chain agreement.
  • Follow up vendor rebates and additional services agreements.

 

Projects-

  • Provide support to CR Manager with additional projects relating to continuous improvement of the area.

 

 

**About You

 

Job Knowledge, Skills, And Experience:

 

Qualification-

 

  • Preferred-   Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, or related areas.

 

 

Experience

 

  • Extensive experience in category management and merchandising.
  • Understanding of marketing principles and retail merchandising fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of market trends and consumer behaviour.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of retail operations and sales.
