Turnarounds

Stanlow Manufacturing Complex is made up of a number of small and large complex production units.  In order to keep each production unit running safely and reliably at its optimum output they require ongoing maintenance, refurbishment and improvement.  To facilitate this involves taking part or all of the production unit offline for a planned period of time in order to complete essential inspection and maintenance; which is known as a Turnaround.  The Turnaround Team, led be a Turnaround Engineer, will compile the scope of work, plan the works and then execute them using the resources of the Turnaround Team, wider ESSAR team (Civils, Engineering, Inspection, Operations, Projects, etc.) and specialised contractors.  The size of a turnaround can involve as little as 30 to in excess of 800 people.

The Role – Graduate Turnaround Engineer

Non-Rotational Graduate Programme – a three year programme that focuses on developing the skills and experience required to manage a plant Turnaround.  There will be a range of internal rotations within specific departments to provide you with an overview and understanding of how various departments (i.e. inspection, engineering, planning/scheduling, etc.) contribute to the overall success of a Turnaround.  Finally you will use the knowledge gained to specialise as a Turnaround Engineer.  In this role you will work with an experienced Turnaround Engineer to deliver turnarounds and ultimately take responsibility for the delivery and execution of your own turnaround.
