The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Storeperson. You will play a key role in supporting the wider Maintenance Department by providing administrative support and managing SAP-related materials activities. You will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Central Workshops, Power/Control Workshops and Production Unit stores, ensuring efficient communication and collaboration between Production Unit planners, coordinators and Main Stores Material Facilitators. The role also involves supporting Maintenance Technicians with a range of general tasks, including operating cleaning equipment and other industrial machinery where the appropriate training and competency have been achieved. This position is integral to maintaining effective stores operations and supporting the delivery of maintenance objectives across the business.
Primary Accountabilities
- Support building maintenance, security turnstile maintenance and other facility-related activities.
- Manage goods-in receipts, inspections and material validation processes, preparing job packs and staged deliveries to meet operational requirements.
- Maintain stock levels by liaising with Main Stores Materials Facilitators and ensuring unused materials are returned promptly.
- Coordinate centrally managed tools and equipment, ensuring compliance with competency, HSSE and operational requirements.
- Maintain workshop and stores facilities, following all work instructions and ensuring high housekeeping standards.
- Ensure materials and equipment are correctly identified, stored, preserved and tracked, including the management of loaned equipment.
- Raise SAP requisitions, support wider maintenance procurement activities and manage departmental stationery and consumables.
- Provide cover for team members during periods of absence and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support Power and Control Maintenance Technicians with maintenance activities, including the repair and testing of portable electrical equipment in line with current regulations.
About You
We are looking for a proactive and organised individual with a strong understanding of procurement systems, stores operations, material identification, inspection procedures, and preservation and packing techniques. While an apprenticeship in a relevant discipline would be an advantage, it is not essential.
You will ideally have experience of SAP materials ordering transactions and an understanding of electrical maintenance activities, with a willingness to develop further skills in areas such as PAT testing, gas alarm management and other maintenance support tasks. A good knowledge of manual handling practices and COSHH requirements would also be beneficial.
To succeed in this role, you will be a strong team player who can also work independently when required. You will possess excellent IT skills, including proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and be able to effectively prioritise workload to meet departmental demands. A flexible and adaptable approach is essential, with the ability to respond to changing business needs and support the wider team where required.
Closing Date
This vacancy will close on 14th August 2026.
Please Note, we work with a carefully selected set of recruitment agencies, and we are not looking to add to the current preferred suppliers list. We are unable to accept representations from agencies that are not on that preferred supplier list.
