The Role

We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Stanlow. This role plays a key part in keeping the site safe, reliable and compliant by supporting long‑term mechanical assurance and project work, while also helping with day‑to‑day issues when needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support long‑term mechanical engineering projects that improve asset reliability and safety.
  • Provide mechanical engineering assurance across inspections, modifications and improvement work.
  • Contribute to long‑term maintenance and reliability planning, including RBI and RCM activities.
  • Review inspection findings and ensure follow‑up actions are completed to the right standard.
  • Support the development and upkeep of long‑term engineering plans and strategies.
  • Help resolve urgent mechanical issues on plant when required.
  • Provide short‑term troubleshooting and technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Assist with planning and delivering major maintenance events.

Signatory Responsibilities

  • Act as, or work towards becoming, a site mechanical signatory for plant changes and other approvals.
  • Complete required training to gain and maintain site signatory status.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (experienced).
  • Significant mechanical engineering experience in a large industrial environment (preferably Upper Tier COMAH).
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
  • Strong safety awareness and understanding of petrochemical equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards (API, DEP, BS etc.).
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Experience in risk assessment and mitigation.
