Summer Intern Programme – Commencing in July 2024 an eight-week placement programme is available within one of our Production Unit (PU) Technology Teams.  You will be assigned a project which will support and provide the Team with tangible data or an improvement to the day to day running of the Unit.

 

The project will be a real problem or opportunity that will give you the chance to interact within Technology, with Operations and the other refinery support disciplines and most importantly, make a quantifiable difference to the performance of the refinery.

 

The programme is designed to give you exposure to the Technology Department and its role within the refinery, whilst allowing you the opportunity to learn, understand and support the disciplines you operate within during the programme. 

 

The chemical engineers within the Technology Department are responsible for a wide range of activities associated with supporting refinery unit production such as; monitoring and assessing refinery units’ performance and providing technical advice and recommendations.   

 

About You

Our ideal candidate will be in their penultimate year of an accredited master Chemical Engineering Degree (Meng), on track for a 2:1 or higher.  Previous relevant work experience is not essential but is preferable.  You will be keen to quickly learn new skills, apply your chemical engineering knowledge and interact with a wide range of disciplines from across the refinery.
